I like to paint a picture of what our day is like. At open house, I have a "travel brochure" A Day in the Life of Your Second Grader. I use a similar format for PTCs. First, start out w/ the positives in the subjects area and then address the concerns. Plus, always talk about the fun projects, centers, tech project, etc. Sometimes the reading and math specialist area teachers are able to come and that's a wonderful resource for both the parents and myself.
My name is Andrew Kauffman and I am a 2nd grade elementary teacher in Northern Indiana.
