Visualizing

We have been working at the strategy of visualizing these past few weeks.  The students were read a poem about a turtle.....
The turtle swims around
flapping long front flippers
like wings flying underwater.
She pokes her pinprick nostrils
through the silver surface
to take a quick breath
so fast, blink and you'll miss it!

Here are their pictures/visualizations of the poem.  This strategy hopefully helps them to better understand a piece of text as they hear it or read about it.
