With the start of the school year, what have you enjoyed? Have you enjoyed the new seating style and all the books? Tell us all what you think!
Starting with this post our class blog is going to be making a change. Instead of typing in here to let people know what we are doing, we are going to be posting videos and glogs to help others to see what we are doing in our class. Hope you all enjoy!
During our break starting Wednesday what kinds of things do you think you might learn? Let's make predictions and when we come back from break we will see if those predictions came true. Write down anything you think you might learn, how to play a video game, how to build a snow fort, what it feels like to have snow in your face, basically anything you learn. Enjoy and have fun!
Our class is wanting to know what has been the most important thing you have learned since the beginning of the school year. Please write down what you have learned along with why it was interesting to you!
Our class is beginning a new adventure of documenting each day one thing that we have learned over the past 24 hours. This "learning club" idea came from Angela Maiers blog and seems like such a wonderful idea. Students will be posting their discoveries each and every day (or as much as we can do). Today was our first attempt and it turned out to be a great start to our day. Students were able to have great conversations and were asking each other questions. For a monday morning, this really broke the weekend break and got our students to jump right into learning. One thing I noticed was that I am a learner along with all of my students, I learned that a Nintendo DS can text and get on the internet. How cool for me to learn during all our conversations.
I look forward to seeing the learning that our students will do each day. Thank you so much to Angela Maiers for the idea and for her blog, it's been a great resource. As we are on fall break right now, I keep asking myself what are our students doing on their days off. We want to know what people do on their vacations, days off. I (Mr. Kauffman) visited family in two states (illinois and ohio) while on our break. What did you do on your days off or what would you like to do?
When carving pumpkins what are the steps that you take? How do you carve your pumpkin and who do you carve with? Use descriptive words and help each other add more to your post.
We want to know, what is one thing you would want to happen at parent teacher conferences?
What did you think of the snow this morning? Tell people what it was like by using descriptive words.
